Funding your Drupal project
Everyone has projects they want to code, and nobody has the time to do it, and the main reason there is no time is because everyone has to work to pay their rent, feed the cat, attend camps, etc. Wouldn't it be nice if your open source project WAS your work? In 2012 I was faced with this problem while running the Configuration Management Initiative for Drupal 8. Instead of trying to juggle a straight job, a Drupal initiative, and a real life, I decided to go on a fundraising drive and try and combine the first two items into one. This drive was amazingly successful, and allowed me to work full time on CMI for over six months.
This is not really rocket science, the things I did have been done by non-profit organizations for decades. In this session I will discuss how I made this happen, and how you can make it happen as well.

I saw this presentation at BADCamp, and I recommend it. I think this type of funding could open up some new avenues for moving other parts of Drupal and open source forward.

This is great info that will allow more people to dedicate time to Drupal or other peripheral.projects.
