10 Things I Hate About You: Gross Generalizations of the Gaps Between Dev and Design

We dress differently, talk differently, act differently, and most importantly, think differently. Designers value shine, and developers value structure. Designers dress to show off their apparently exquisite taste, and developers dress for 2-week code binges. We both like coffee, but only one of us has been to rehab because of it. At our cores, we are different beasts, but we share common goals, and are probably more similar than you think.

Join Marc and Mark (yes, seriously) as they first air their dirty laundry about each other, and then come back together in the spirit of collaboration.

This session will touch on overlapping areas between dev and design, and attempt to mitigate fundamental differences between the two. In addition to addressing the general philosophical and technical issues of working collaboratively in Drupal, this session will conclude with some of the tools we have at our disposal to help us achieve our ultimate goal: crafting Drupal sites that are both beautiful and functional.
