Canopy Case Study: Sisters of Mercy

The Sisters of Mercy (Mercy) are one of the largest health care providers in the US. They wanted to leverage their existing and future Drupal infrastructure and combine it with a document repository system that could scale to support an internal staff of 30K+ employees. The solution we provided them, Canopy, is a set of tools designed to bring the best of of Drupal together with the best of Open Source Document Repository system "Alfresco". Drupal is an outstanding web development framework that allows you to build pretty much any kind of website you can think of; perfect for both public and internal facing sites. However, a few things that Drupal is not particularly good at are large Document Repositories, Document Workflows and dealing with Hierarchical Data Stores. All great strengths of Alfresco. This real world case study with cover some of the ways that Canopy combines these two great platforms and will go into detail on how we used Canopy to deliver Mercy a full backend/frontend solution.
