DrupalGap - A Mobile Application Development Kit for Drupal

This session is a jump-start guide on building a multi-platform mobile application that integrates with a Drupal website. The DrupalGap mobile application development kit leverages PhoneGap, jQueryMobile, and of course, Drupal!

Overview

As we move further into the mobile realm, we want our Drupal sites to function with as many mobile devices as possible, and in as many ways as possible. Responsive themes have paved the way for our Drupal sites to function on mobile browsers, but what about bringing the power of our Drupal sites to a mobile application that can be installed by our users?

DrupalGap was built to bridge the gap between Drupal sites and mobile application users. Large communities of mobile application users can connect with the power of Drupal and its community of websites.

The DrupalGap mobile application development kit leverages the power of PhoneGap and jQueryMobile. We can write one set of code for our mobile application, and then deploy it across multiple platforms (iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows, etc).

Open Source

DrupalGap is following in Drupal's footsteps by providing its developers with Hooks, a Forms API, and the ability to write custom modules. It features a web services API for C.R.U.D. (create, retrieve, update, delete) operations on Nodes, Users, Comments, Vocabularies and Terms. Best of all, DrupalGap is Open Source too!

Critical module for Phonegap/Drupal development.

I'd really love to see this session go through. Mobile is a very important aspect of Drupal and online development in general-- I'd love to learn more about what DrupalGap can do.

Would love to see this session happen, it's time to demystify app development!

Very interesting. Hoping to focus mainly on mobile app dev in Portland and this sounds neat.

This project is so great! Even though I cant join the Con, I would love to see/hear the session afterwards. Keep up the nice work!

It'd be very nice to see this and I hope that we, as Drupalists from Europe could see it at Prague too.

This couldn't come at a better time. I will definitely attend this session if it is offered.

Thank you for the support everyone, unfortunately this session wasn't chosen.
