Getting Shit Done! (Drupal, Agile Web Development, & Low Risk Project Management)

Project Manager.  Producer.  Account Manager. Nag.

Regardless of what you call it, the success of your project is determined by the management of your project.

In this session we'll dissect your management into the person and the tools that person uses. Lets be clear: by tools, we don't just mean "hey guys, let's use Basecamp” or “yeah, we shared that Google doc.” By tools we mean the real-world processes and strategies that ensure SUCCESSFUL projects.

Examples?
When/why/and how to structure meetings (yes, you really do need to talk to people!);
How to best handle client feedback and minimize risk;
The top mistakes programmers and designers make (and how to avoid those).

We'll also share our experiences creating websites (in as little as a week) that have won competitive national awards. It’s a dash of waterfall project management, a cup of agile web development, and a pinch of lean manufacturing.

Guaranteed to change your worldview AND include at least three actionable tips that you can use RIGHT NOW to make your web projects more fun, more profitable, and reduce risk.

Our Motto: Agile development isn't rushing; It's about having a plan and not wasting time.

This talk would provide a good counter-point to the typical waterfall-based PM discussions.

I've seen Jason present a version of this talk before, definitely a great perspective on how Drupal "plays well" with Agile Development & why developers can rely on Drupal as a platform for rapid prototyping / development / hands-on learning.

Jason's a great presenter, and the topic is much needed. I give it two big thumbs up for what will surely be a very thoughtful, considered (and practical) talk.

Worth attending. Jason has been building websites and CMS's well before there was Drupal. He definitely has an insightful vision into how to make things happen.

I attended Jason's agile dev workshop. Don’t miss it. It's about jump-starting a project, designing with the client, drupal's wysiwyg and how to get the client excited about the process and adding content. You will also get tips on working more efficiently.

For those of you who were at the talk at my last DrupalCamp, it will cover some of the same material, but that was the first time I ran that talk, so I do want to look at the timing. I felt like we were able to cover a lot in the session, and still have time for questions, but I think it might be nice to take one or two "case studies" from the audience on the "how do we get started" side of things, since that seemed to be the most common thread of questions.

is there a recording of the drupalcamp version? I'm just curious how this presentation is different than other general PM sessions.
