Planning and executing multiple projects for maximum efficiency and amazing results

Large nonprofit organizations often need to build several related projects at a time. This can include organizations with multiple, interrelated programs, or a family of sub-branded web properties run by a coalition or educational institution.

For the production team, that means designing, building and deploying several sites one after another, training the client team, and supporting each site after launch. This kind of multi-project engagement can get unwieldy fast if not planned for and managed correctly, but it presents an opportunity for an extremely efficient process and fantastic results.

We will briefly look at effective strategies for executing a collection of projects in one engagement, starting with an upfront planning and design process, followed by a concurrent implementation effort. We will bring in real-world examples from our work with several large non-profit organizations, including Knowledge for Health (K4Health), a USAID-funded project of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
