Migrating the Library

We'd like to present on our experience migrating a high traffic higher ed site (GW Libraries) to Drupal. We'll discuss planning, user testing, module selection, and cat herding with a strong emphasis on lessons learned.

This is a conversational session, aimed at organizations that have yet to take the plunge and would benefit from seeing a roadmap used by peers in the world of higher education, non-profit and government.

A (brief) blog post on our process: http://library.gwu.edu/scholarly-technology-group/posts/migrating-librar...

The attached slides are from a presentation to the GW Libraries' Public Services Group.

Although we're planning this as a beginner session, we can easily rework it for intermediate.

As a university employee this sounds excellent. Always looking to learn from others experiences migrating large sites into Drupal. I think university migrations like this bring their own set of special difficulties.

I'd love to see this explained. Big Edu is moving to Drupal in spades and this will help the community understand some of the roadblocks, needs, and strengths.
