Winning with flexible designs. Modern theme workflow patterns for Drupal websites.

Let's face it, Photoshop files are painful. They don't respond to devices, UI states, or selective design processes. They define the facade of an application without taking the inner workings of it to heart. They are often created by designers within the boundaries of Photoshop, safe from the hostile environment of a working application and device constraints that skew interactive components.

With rapid front-end development tools like Sass, Compass, and integrated style guides, it has become much more efficient to design as you go rather than only in the prototyping phase (which should last longer). A design should follow a working application that evolves into a functioning business tool, not the other way around.

What to Expect?

This session will delve into front-end workflow patterns of top Drupal agencies internationally. You can expect:

• Code examples and case studies demonstrating flexible design wins.

• A walkthrough of what a flexible design process might actually look like.

• Advice on how project managers can convince clients to build something that hasn't had every pixel painted.
