Workbench Case Study: A policy of truth
Workbench is a suite of workflow tools with moderation and access designed by very bright people for smart workflows. However, in the trenches we all know things can be tricky and given a host of business, legal, and process requirements it can be hard to match the pristine conditions of a module's original use case. Luckily, Workbench, like all well-designed modules, is extensible and change friendly. In this case study we'll discuss and demonstrate work we've done for a policy office at a major university.
Session attendees will see how we used existing Workbench functionality, mapped existing Workbench concepts in novel ways, and added custom functionality that works in concert with Workbench to:
- handle complex review routing,
- restrict and control node access
- record and display significant revision periods
- promote and enhance collaboration
- provide custom workflow dashboards.
