Andrew Mallis is an activist and technologist working with artists, non-profits and institutions to build community and social value.
He is a Fine Arts graduate of the Ontario College of Art & Design, where he helped foster community by co-founding the gallery/social space Art System, pioneered a web radio in 2000, gave students a voice by founding the publication Bite, and fought for their rights as Chair of the Student Union for two terms, namely by establishing an ombudsperson's office. It was all very Rushmore.
Last Fall, he relocated to New York City to engage in the #occupy movement, and continues to be core to the technological infrastructure helping power Occupy Wall Street. Since its launch in February, he continues to leaderlessly lead the international #Occupy Directory project.
