Break the Mold; Build a Better Team; See Big Results

It's no secret that building a team for your Drupal shop is a big challenge facing our space right now. Finding enough qualified Drupal developers -- and keeping them -- keeps many of us up at night. But some of the traditional rules about hiring, staff organization, sales, and employee incentives were made to be broken. In this session, we'll discuss ideas and stories from the field about how organizations hired outside of the traditional "drupal channels," created high-functioning teams without a huge amount of hierarchy, and incentivized their teams with perks and opportunities that these guys truly care about. Bring your ideas and stories from the field, too.

Phase2 has been quite successful hiring outside of the community. Really interested to hear more about their approach and lessons learned.

In the past, I have had the opportunity the work with great developers in non-drupal shops. We went through a lot of debates and arguments and as a result came out as better developers in the end. Definitely love to hear the stories of Drupal shops that have hired outside of the community!
