Drupal 8 Accessibility - Are We There Yet?
I'll be doing a quick demo of Drupal 8 to highlight some of the exciting things that have become part of Core and how accessibility is a part of that.
Core contributors have done so much to see that Drupal 8 is even closer to meeting our set goal of WCAG 2.0 AA.
I've been involved in Core development since Drupal 7 got started and there have been some great advancements we've brought into Drupal 8 including a lot of WAI-ARIA. This may not be an acronym that you're familiar with, but as the web approaches the functionality of the desktop it's increasingly important for assistive technology.
Unfortunately, it's a never ending battle. The Internet is advancing at a blazing rate and it is really difficult to keep up with the expectations of users.
Drupal 8 is going to be mobile ready & HTML5 inside & out. Extend accessibility of the administration side (as we started doing in Drupal 7) is just one reason that Drupal is the most accessible enterprise CMS available.
