100 modules and a baby

While I have been a Drupal developer, I've gone through several major life changes in the last two years alone. I started my first real full-time Drupal job, I got married, and last October I became a dad. I would like to share with you my interesting observations, perceptions, and challenges that I've faced through these changes from the eyes of a major Drupal contributor. I hope to impart different ways and advice for others to help handle change within our community and our lives.

I have also scheduled a baby to help co-present with me (yes, seriously).

Takeaways

  • How did I handle the preparation to, during, and transition from the various challenges?
  • What are some lessons we can learn as a community to help those dealing with change?
  • Is there any hope for even major contributors like webchick, a core contributor who will be having a baby in May (and ironically missing DrupalCon)?

As a fellow new parent, and contributor to the community (although not nearly as active as you!), I'd love to see how you balance things.

Just had my second, and I still strive to become more involved. Coping stories from a major contributor would be helpful for sure, it's a challenging balance and many of us are growing up, with Drupal.

Just had a baby a month ago, and would love to attend this session—work/life/Drupal balance is always tough, and I think being able to see what other people do to make it all work well would be awesome!

I wanna hear what the kid has to say.

But for serious: I have always wondered how people like Dave accomplish as much as they do, and I'd love to hear what he has to say on the subject.
